Over the last 12 years I have enjoyed helping others navigate the struggles we all face in life. Much of my work has been with children and families. Working with all types of clients however, including marital couples, adolescents, those struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as those considering life changes, has left me amazed both at people’s courage in dealing with difficult circumstances, as well as their willingness to be vulnerable in the midst of those same struggles.
My approach to working with clients involves different combinations of Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and others. Combining different approaches during client sessions often produces an environment where change can happen. However, what I find most valuable is listening well to a client’s story which has power in and of itself. I am a licensed counselor (LPCC) in the state of Kentucky in the USA, and have worked in individual, family, group, and marital therapy. In addition, I have also provided supervision to other counselors who are new to the profession. Working in the field of counseling is something that I have greatly enjoyed as I have seen clients learn, grow, and change for the better. It is a wonderful privilege to be working as a part of The Journey International. I look forward to helping those who come seeking to share their story, and am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their journey. |
